The REDARC BCDC1240D under-bonnet Battery Charger is a 12V 40A DC to DC charger built for high performance in engine bay setups. Its durable, sealed design ensures it can endure harsh conditions, including heat, moisture, and dust.

With a built-in Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) solar regulator, the BCDC1240D charges using both solar panels and the alternator simultaneously. Thanks to its 'Green Power Priority' feature, it prioritises solar energy, reducing the load on the alternator.
This charger is suitable for 12V or 24V vehicle systems and works with both traditional and variable/smart alternators.

It also includes unique patented charging profiles, including one specifically for lithium batteries, making it an excellent match for REDARC Lithium Batteries. The dual-input capability allows it to charge a wide variety of battery types such as AGM, GEL, lead-acid, and calcium.

The BCDC1240D is typically recommended for lead-acid battery banks over 200Ah and lithium batteries over 100Ah. Always verify your battery’s specifications and ensure the charger’s 'Continuous Current Rating' does not exceed the battery manufacturer's maximum recommended charging current. For smaller setups, the BCDC1225D is recommended.
